We won’t be able to gather for Easter Sunday, which is very sad and quite shocking to think about. But here’s the thing: the very first Easter didn’t feature a big gathering. The disciples were self-isolated, afraid, and uncertain where to find their hope. But Jesus had risen from the dead, slipped free of the tomb, and walked through the walls of their home anyway. Even today, he shows us his nail-scarred hands that conquered the power of sin and death to remind us that He is the Risen King who calls us to “Rise.”
